Reflex reflector for tail-lights of vehicles
DRIVE
September 14, 2005
The annular rear light has a modified parabolic reflector (1) with a asymmetrical cross-section. The inner ring wall (3) forms a central spike which is lower than the outer ring wall (2). A support ring (7) on the flat floor (4) of the reflector holds a double ring of LED's (8,9). Light from the outer ring of LED's reflects off the outer part of the reflector and light from the inner ring reflects off the central spike. There may be a LED (14) inside the spike shining through a small lens (6). The double row of LED's is covered by a shading ring (13).
