MULTIFUNCTIONAL DEVICE FOR COLLECTING CURRENT IN A RAILWAY SYSTEM

The device (20) has a HOC/HMC switch that switches between two states according to whether a roof cable conveys DC or single phase current. The switch connects the cable to a DC power line in one state, and insulates cable and sets the line to ground or to another line in another state. A voltage sensor (PP) recognizes the voltage conveyed by the cable, and a protection unit (PFC) to protect against lightning and shunting impacts. An independent claim is also included for a current collecting system for railway rolling stock comprising a multi-function device.
