A charging device with shunt and voltage division control by voltage detection to control a main switch (SWI) connected in series with the charging circuit by creating shunting to actively reduce charging current in the course of detecting voltage rise of a rechargeable secondary battery (BAT100) to provide a limited charging current by shunting, or a cut-out by voltage division, or a shunting first and then the cut-out by voltage division, thus to complete charging the rechargeable battery (BAT100) once it approaches its saturated voltage.
