Passenger airbag

The interior fitting, in particular, in the form of a dashboard with a co-driver airbag module for a motor vehicle comprises a carrier element (10) incorporating an airbag opening (30) which is covered against the intermediate layer (14) by a prefabricated closure element (32) supported on the edge (36) of the opening. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing such an interior fitting. It involves covering of the airbag opening with a prefabricated closure element before a foaming process.
