Common Rail fuel injector with integrated hydraulic pressure amplifier

The injector has an actuator (5) arranged in a hollow space (4) of a housing, where the injector is subjected to an injection system pressure. The actuator acts on a piston (20) of a hydraulic pressure intensifier (2) and the piston is led into a guide section (22) of the housing. An injector valve unit (11) enclosed by a nozzle cavity (10) is subjected to the pressure, and the piston is centered on a piston unit (23) of the valve unit. The injector valve unit is operated using the pressure intensifier. The intensifier includes two control spaces (24, 27), which are connected by a connection channel (26) formed in the piston unit.
