The tank flap system has a tank flap (2) with a tank flap hinge (3) that is arranged opposite a locking mechanism (4) relative to the tank flap and an electric motor actuation drive (5) for operating the locking mechanism. The electric motor actuation drive is arranged on the side of the tank flap hinge.
