The motor vehicle air conditioning has an air feed duct (12) to a cooler (14) with a downstream duct section (20) containing a heater (18). There is a parallel by-pass duct controlled by a mixing valve (22). A branch duct (40) adjacent to the mixing valve allows conditioned air to pass into the rear area of the passenger compartment.
