Motor vehicle navigation device with programmable automatic announcement mode

Vehicle navigation device has a processor (1), radio receiver (2), GPS receiver (3) and input and output means. It can be operated in an automatic announcement mode in which the processor automatically triggers output of interesting information via the loudspeaker (11) after a predefined time interval and or distance traveled. Typically the information relates to the remaining journey time to a destination, traffic and weather conditions.
