Gas generator

An automotive air bag is inflated by a cold gas generator which operates in response to a fuse. The fuse assembly is located within a first housing that projects into but does not make contact with the gas generator housing opposite inner face. The fuse operates solely in response to an electrical impulse emitted by a trigger pad (4).
