Method for manufacturing an electrode-collector laminate for lithium cells

The method involves removing an oxide layer if present and any other impurities that may be present from the aluminum collector, preferably using a wet chemical technique, and applying the positive active material directly to the resulting oxide-free surface. The wet chemical technique is conducted in a basic environment, preferably in an aqueous alkali. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an electrode-collector composite for stacked rechargeable lithium cells; and (B) and the use of a positive electrode or electrode-collector composite in a composite with a negative electrode and separator manufactured by a lamination process.
