Air filter for an internal combustion engine

The air filter has a housing (2) containing an air filter element (8) between a raw air inlet (10) and the clean air outlet (12) in the clean air bowl (6) there is an aperture (13) in the housing, covered by a fine fabric or thin-walled sound element. A resonator (18) is fitted on the clean air side, it is switched on and off, depending on preset engine parameters.
