Device for receiving fixing means

The receiving component is fitted with a tolerance compensator (10) that has a hole (5) to receive the fixing and is shaped so that it can move in at least one direction perpendicular to the axis of the hole. The compensator is e.g. in the form of a slider that moves in a matching slideway groove in the receiving component, and is made from a thermoplastic material. Its hole can be made to receive a self-tapping screw or have a metal insert with a thread for a screw.
