The side window roller blind (20) for motor vehicles has a material web fastened by one end to a rotatably mounted winding shaft (21). A contoured section (23) is fastened to the material web, and a guide rail (24) is located next to the pulled out material web. A slide (25) is guided in the guide rail and a hinge connects the contoured section to the slide, with the hinge axis located perpendicularly to a plane defined by the pulled-out material web.
