Actuator and safety device for a vehicle
DRIVE
April 27, 2005
The actuator device (1) is for once-only or emergency triggering of a safety device (2). It has a drive (4) and an actuator (3). The actuator device is constructed so that for an operational test, the actuator can be operated without triggering the safety device. It is tested against trigger direction (5) and against spring force and/or a stop (7). The actuator is an electrical component, esp. an electric motor, or a linear drive/motor. The device has a sensor (8) with micro switch and/or Hall sensor, to detect position and/or movement of actuator and/or drive. The test is carried out regularly and/or automatically, e.g. after a fixed number of running of the vehicle, and always while the vehicle is at a standstill.
