Seat belt retractor
DRIVE
April 27, 2005
The belt spool has a torsion rod(34), and a preformed component(52) by which one end(53) of the belt strap is secured in a slot(50) in the body of the spool. The preformed component bears upon the torsion rod so that it is supported if it is loaded by the tensioning force of the seat belt. The torsion rod has two hub sections, by which it fits on the spool body, and an axial section interconnecting the two hub sections. The preformed component is supported on the torsion rod only on the hub sections. An independent claim is included for a seat belt retractor equipped with the proposed belt spool.
