The gear assembly for an air regulating device has at least one control element for the regulating of an airflow, whereby the control element is driven via a drive shaft and a driven shaft (3). At least one locking element (16, 15,15') is provided on both the drive shaft and on the driven shaft and enable a locking of the driven shaft during the rotation of the drive shaft. The locking element has a disc segment (8,14), and the locking element is offset in the radial direction in relation to a driven shaft gearwheel (10) or a drive shaft toothed segment (5). An independent claim is included for a ventilation system especially for a motor vehicle.
