Device (C) has a steering cylinder supporting a set of control units e.g. switches. The cylinder has an external surface with distinct sectors, each gathering together the units dedicated to a particular equipment of a vehicle. The cylinder is moveable between stable activation positions, each corresponding to a sector, where the units of the sector occupying the activation position are permitted to be activated. An independent claim is also included for an application of a control device.
