Adjustable chassis
DRIVE
March 9, 2005
The adjustable vehicle chassis has first axle link for a first wheel of an axle pivotably mounted on a vehicle structure and a second axle link for a second wheel of the axle, whereby each axle link (17-23) carries a main spring (33) for the vehicle structure and has an auxiliary spring that can be adjusted in tension by a drive unit. The auxiliary spring of each axle link is in the form of a torsion rod (37-43) that engages the axle link. Two electric motors (45-51) forming drive units bias the torsion rods.
