Wiper device having a control unit

A control unit (14i) controls the position of wiping blade relative to a wiper arm based on the position of the wiping arm. The control unit includes at least one flexible sub-section (18i) for exerting a pulling control force. A fixing part of the wiper arm is jointlessly attached to a wiper rod. The flexible sub-section acts on a spring mechanism.
