Navigation device and method for determining a route

The method involves allocating parameters to traffic path sections (2) of the traffic network, and determining an optimal route by evaluating the parameters. Adapted parameters are transmitted to a navigation device if there is a disruption in at least one traffic section. The parameters are related to at least one traffic disruption, even if they are allocated to non-disrupted traffic sections. A route is determined taking account of a disruption based on the adapted parameters. An independent claim is included for a motor vehicle navigation apparatus.
