Curved roller blind for vehicles
DRIVE
March 2, 2005
The roller blind (14) consists of a flexible fabric or plastics strip (15) which may be wound up to cover the rear window (4) of a road vehicle. It may be wound down to allow a clear view through the window. There are guide rails with grooves (16) in the C-pillars (5) on either side of the rear window. The blind has a flexible beam at its top edge with spring-loaded guide pins sliding in the slits in the guide rails. The blind winds up on a spring-loaded flexible roller at the bottom, under a slit (18) in a parcel shelf (17). Several roller sections run on bearings on a flexible rod held on clamps or bearings at its ends.
