The body section, especially the front bonnet of a motor vehicle, has deformation elements (20-20.4) each constructed as a lamella (21) which has at least one first section (22) extending adjacently to the inner side (13) of the bonnet's upper section (10), and at least one second section (23) which extends at a predetermined angle (alpha ) and by a determined length (LE) in relation to the inner side of the upper section. A free end of one of the lamella sections forms a free standing end (28).
