The arrangement has a speed governor functional group, a control instrument with a power monitor, a driving regulator for using load-dependent engine revolution rate and gear ratio values with engine and gearbox regulators to set a driving speed corresponding to the governor's demanded speed and a shuttle functional group for selecting direction of travel, whereby a speed of travel limiting mode is activated for the forward and reverse settings of a shuttle operating lever (1.1). An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a method of regulating a motor vehicle's speed of travel.
