Throttle valve

The switched flap valve has a valve flap (10) positioned in the engine air intake channel (12) and operated by a switching shaft (14), with a sealing gap between the peripheral edge of the valve flap and the wall of the air intake channel. The latter peripheral edge has an extension (22) parallel to the air intake channel wall, along its opposing longer sides (28), for increasing the length of the sealing gap.
