The invention relates to an intake air throttle for an internal combustion engine, comprising an intake air inlet and an outlet, wherein the intake air throttle has a flap that is pivotable in the intake air inlet between an open position and a closed position, wherein in the closed position of the flap, when the intake air inlet is traversed along a flow direction, a pressure differential between an inflow side and an outflow side of the flap is adjustable, wherein the flap is dimensioned such that in the closed position a gap is provided between the flap and an inner wall of the intake air inlet.
