Remote-control method and device

The process involves transmitting an alarm message from a transmitter (1) to a receiver (11). An alarm message interpretation server (13) receives the alarm message and interprets the alarm message based on characteristics of receiver and produces an interpreted alarm message that is transmitted to the receiver. The receiver transmits a control message to the transmitter in response to the alarm message. The transmitter executes an action e.g. stopping a vehicle, corresponding to a control in the control message. An independent claim is also included for a remote control device.
