Side impact beam

The side impact carrier strip has a longitudinal profile (2) with end sectors and two arms (3, 4) joined by a base (5) Flanges (6, 7) open out from the base at an opening angle (alpha ) of not less than 10[deg]. This provides an optimum cross section for the strip, so that stresses and strains in local regions are reduced.
