Igniting Unit for a safety system of a vehicle

The ignition unit (1) has an ignition tablet (3) arranged in a housing (5) that ignites at least one further propellant charge after being ignited. The propellant charge is arranged in a chamber (8) in the housing so that it generates a reversed impulse force towards the ignition tablet after being ignited. The propellant charge is arranged in a chamber of a drive element (6) in the ignition unit.
