Ignition device for a safety system

The ignition device (1) has an ignition element (2), especially enclosed by a protective cap (4), with which a propulsive charge (5), especially enclosed by a housing (6), can be activated. An additional component with a low self-ignition temperature is arranged near a propellant, especially the ignition element or propulsive charge. The additional component can be introduced as a granulate into the protective cap and/or housing.
