Method for producing an image on a snow surface using a spray device (11), whereby the spray device is moved over the surface on which the image is to be produced. A cyclical process comprising the following steps is repeated a number of times: determination of the position of the spray device, spraying of an ink, especially a liquid ink onto the surface in a position dependent manner and movement of the spray device to a further surface location. An independent claim is made for a device for generating an image on a show surface that has a spray device and position determining means (8.1, 8.2, 9).
