Method and device for generating road segments for a digital map

Method involves the following steps: (a) driving over a road section with a motor vehicle that is equipped with an image generation device (1) that delivers image data of the vehicle surroundings and capture of the vehicle position with a position capture device; (b) evaluation of the image data (2) in order to compose a road section description; and (c) correlation of the vehicle position and road section data to produce a digital map. An Independent claim is made for a device for generation of a digital map (6) with interfaces for supply of position data from a coordinate system and road section description data and correlation means (5) for linking the two data sets.
