The kit is for the assembly of the operating control for a vehicle heater, with a drive shaft (26) and a drive take-off shaft (36). A module (18) has a housing section (22) and a drive cogwheel (28) and a rotating shaft at the housing section as the drive shaft. The housing section has an opening (24), where the cogwheel lies at least partially free. A number of other modules (20) have a second housing section (32) and a drive take-off cogwheel (38), with a rotating shaft in the housing as the drive take-off. The take-off cogwheel lies at least partially free within an opening (34) in the second housing sections. Each module has a different pitch and alignment for the take-off shaft, to be fitted to the first module to give the required configuration. Two different plastics materials are used at the contact between the moving parts and the housings, as a lubricant-free mounting with a low friction.
