Improved apparatus and method to control the voltage of electrochemical generators for a rechargable battery

The device has a load calculation module (MC) measuring a voltage of a rechargeable battery (BAT) and determining average voltage by dividing the measured voltage with total number of modules (M1-MN). A load processing unit (ET1) compares voltage of each module with the average voltage and delivers a representative signal to a balancing unit if the module voltage is greater than the average value to reduce module voltage. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a rechargeable battery; and (b) a method for controlling voltage of a rechargeable battery.
