Occupant protection arrangement for a motor vehicle

The present invention relates to an occupant protection arrangement for a motor vehicle comprising at least one inflatable airbag (20) having a front surface (22), said front surface (22) facing towards an occupant (10) when said airbag (20) is inflated and deployed in the case of an emergency. The front surface (22) comprises elongated indentations (24) to restrict the membrane forces (FMembrane) in the front surface (22) of the airbag (20). This achieves the effect that the membrane forces (FMembrane) in the airbag fabric responsible for the imbalance in the loading characteristics between chest-loading and head-loading are significantly reduced or even eliminated, irrespective of the occupant's size.
