Backrest for a vehicle rear seat

The rectangular-section frame member (10) is attached to the metal shell (2) of the seat backrest. It is buried inside the plastics foam padding (6) of the seat assembly. It has an inset groove (7) to accommodate the edges of a seat cover (5) covering the foam, and a carpet (4) covering the metal shell which supports the plastics foam.
