A detent pawl (13) swivels on bearings and surrounds a first bearing pin (FBP) (19). A counter element (20) moves in relation to the FBP and works together with the detent pawl to operate a locking device (11). A catch (21) moves on bearings and supports the detent pawl in the event of a crash. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) A motor vehicle seat locking device brace with a lower part and an upper part swiveling in relation to the lower part; (b) and for a motor vehicle seat.
