Locking device for a vehicle seat

A detent pawl (15) pivotably mounted on a lower fitting (7), locks an upper fitting (8). A clamp (25) pivotably mounted through a cam (31), secures the detent pawl in locked state. The cam moves relative to the detent pawl.
