Actuator

The actuator (1) has a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive element (2) that is encapsulated in an elastic housing (6). The piezoelectric or magnetostrictive element is braced in the elastic housing by at least one intermediate element (8). The piezoelectric or magnetostrictive element consists of several stacked layers (3) and is covered at the ends by top and bottom plates (4,5).
