The fuel injection valve (1) has a piezoelectric, electrostrictive or magnetostrictive actuator (14) and a valve closure body that interacts with the actuator via an actuation strand (3,13). The actuator housing (12) has a compensation element (16) for compensating pressure differences between the interior and exterior of the actuator housing, whereby the compensation element is fully structurally separate from the actuation strand.
