Exhaust manifold for a motor vehicle with a support flange for a device

DRIVE June 23, 2004
Source
The exhaust manifold comprises an internal conduit connecting a gas outlet orifice from an engine cylinder head to a gas inlet orifice of a turbocharger. The upstream end of the internal conduit makes part of a first fixing flange (20) for the manifold on the cylinder head. A downstream end (30) of the conduit makes part of the connection means to the turbocharger inlet orifice. There are support means for the turbocharger on the manifold, independent of these connection means, constituted by a second flange (44) carried by the first flange.
