The fuel injection valve has a housing with a high pressure inlet for fuel, a spring-loaded injection valve element (22), a dual action control piston (60) bounding a high pressure chamber (20) on one side and a control chamber (62) on the other side, a control body (72) bounding the control chamber and valve element in the form of a plate-shaped tongue that is fixed at one end.
