A control device for a turbocharger with an electric motor according to the invention includes a turbocharger (11); an electric motor (11b) which can increase a supercharging pressure by running a compressor (11a) of the turbocharger (11); base electric power amount calculating means (14, 15, 16, 19, 26) for calculating a base amount of electric power to be supplied to the electric motor based on a target supercharging pressure and an actual supercharging pressure; electric power amount setting means (16) for setting an amount of electric power to be supplied to the electric motor, and electric motor controlling means (21) for controlling the electric motor (11b) based on the amount of electric power to be supplied which is set by the electric power amount setting means (16), wherein the electric power amount setting means (16) sets the amount of electric power to be supplied to a maximum amount of electric power in the beginning of the electric power supply to the electric motor (11b). Due to this control, it is possible to enhance responsiveness of rising of the supercharging pressure when assist of the supercharging is being performed using the electric motor.
