Axial rolling bearing with rotation sensor for a vehicle suspension for the measurement of vertical stress

DRIVE June 2, 2004
Source
The vehicle suspension stop has an upper fixed ring (1) and lower moving ring (3) which contain ball bearings (5). The vehicle wheel suspension spring (4) bears on to the lower ring through a dish (7) such that when it turns under vertical pressure the amount of rotation may be measured by a coder (11) attached to the lower ring and a fixed captor (12) and used to determine the vertical pressure An Independent claim is also included for: A method for measuring the vertical force applied to a vehicle wheel which uses as data the rotation of the suspension spring as well as the steering direction of the wheels and the contraction of the suspension spring
