Frontaxle with independent wheel suspension and steerable wheels of a commercial vehicle

The axle (10) has a chassis sub frame (40) on which wheel suspension and steering parts are mounted, upper and lower triangular wishbones, ball joints and elastic bearings. It has a hydraulically assisted steering gearbox (14) mounted on the chassis sub frame on one side of the vehicle with its steering axle approximately vertical and a steering lever (15) pivotable approximately parallel to the plane of the road, an intermediate steering lever (16) arranged on the sub frame on the opposite side of the vehicle, a three-part track rod (17-19), lever offsets and a spring damper strut (20) per vehicle side.
