Method for reducing emissions of spark ignition internal combustion engines

Source
The exhaust emission reduction method uses delivery of fuel to the combustion gases by injection of an auxiliary fuel quantity during an expansion stroke of at least one engine cylinder, with a selective catalytic reduction catalyzer inserted in the exhaust line. The fuel quantity for the auxiliary fuel injection can be determined by a control unit dependent on the measured air/fuel ratio.
