Suspension device for industrial truck

DRIVE April 21, 2004
Source
The spring arrangement for trucks involves a wheel-bearing unit (1) located movably in a height direction in relation to the truck frame. The location comprises an upper pivot arm (2) fitted partly in the truck frame (4), partly in the wheel-bearing unit. A spring (9) is fitted between the drive unit and a point (7) on the upper pivot arm. A downward movement for the drive unit gives a reduced moment for the force with which the spring acts on the upper pivot arm, which counteracts reduction of the spring force as the result of spring elongation, so that the resultant spring force can be maintained unaltered.
