Towing hook for a vehicle

The towing coupling (1) has an elongate rod-shaped part (2) attached to the automobile at one end and provided with a loop (3) at the opposite end for engagement with a towing device. The rod-shaped part has a hollow cross-section (4) over at least part of its length, the loop provided by a wire cable attached to the rod-shaped part at both ends (8,9), e.g. by welding.
