In an engine (1) in which the fuel injection rate is controlled by a governor (11) having a construction in which the turning of a governor lever (31) connected to the control lever (16) of a fuel injection pump (12) is controlled within a fixed range by a control section (33b) installed in a limiter (32), on the side surface of the engine, a stopper (40) for determining the maximum fuel injection position of the limiter is provided with a heat sensitive expansion member, so that the expansion of the heat sensitive expansion member with increasing temperature causes the maximum fuel injection position of the limiter to move to the fuel quantity decrease side.
