The device has a turn-push switch group on the free end of a switch lever with at least one rotary switch and a switch operated by a pushing movement. The plane of fixed contact elements of the at least one rotary switch is perpendicular to the longitudinal extent of the switch group. The rotary switch has an associated sliding body with a movable contact element with a torque coupling but decoupled from the pushing movement. The device has a turn-push switch group (2) on the free end of a switch lever (3) with at least one rotary switch (4,5) and a switch operated by a pushing movement (6), each with a movable contact element (27,30,34) operated by an actuating element (24,33,35), and a fixed conducting track structure with corresponding contact surfaces. The plane of the fixed contact elements of the at least one rotary switch is perpendicular to the longitudinal extent of the switch group. The rotary switch has an associated sliding body with the movable contact element with a torque coupling by decoupled from the pushing movement.
