The manufacturing process for a gas generator casing (10) involves using a tube (22) with wall thickness not more than 10% of its external diameter, and a connector of external diameter at tube-side end between 15 and 40% of the tube's external diameter. The connector is set radially to the tube. The two are then friction-welded to each other to a depth less than the tube wall thickness.
